I presented our VR + AI firefighter training project to the Mayor of Alexandria, the Fire Chief, and the Police Chief, highlighting how immersive systems can support command-level training in complex emergency scenarios.
Overview
This presentation focused on our VR + AI firefighter training project and its potential to improve firefighter commander preparation through immersive, responsive training environments. I shared how AI-integrated VR systems can be used to simulate pressure, uncertainty, and rapidly evolving incident scenarios in ways that traditional training environments often cannot.
We discussed ways these tools could contribute to real-world training by strengthening decision-making practice, improving scenario realism, and offering more adaptive guidance and evaluation for command-level response. It was a valuable opportunity to connect research with public safety leadership and explore how AI-assisted immersive systems could support future firefighter preparedness.
